The Solidarity Center works in about 60 countries with more than 200 labor unions, pro-worker NGOs, legal-aid groups, human rights defenders, women’s associations, advocacy coalitions, universities and economic think-tanks to support workers as they exercise their rights, including organizing for safer work sites, demanding living wages, improving laws (and the enforcement of existing laws) that protect working people, and fighting to end labor exploitation, discrimination and abuse. The Solidarity Center strengthens workers’ economic and political power by promoting an international movement for democracy, shared prosperity and social justice—where governments enforce, and employers respect, worker rights. It is an allied organization of the AFL-CIO.
