Keystone Human Services International

Keystone Human Services International (KHSI) promotes activities that support adults, children and families who are in need of services due to disability, abandonment, institutionalization, poverty, or other adverse societal conditions. Our international programs include community-based support services, inclusive education, psychological support, employment, best-practice training, technical assistance, and consultation. Keystone Human Services International, as part of Keystone Human Services, has over 45 years of experience assisting individuals with intellectual and development disabilities, autism, and children and family services. KHSI is currently providing services in Moldova and India. KHSI Moldova Association: Founded in 2003 by Keystone Human Services International, the Keystone Human Services International Moldova Association provides community-based services and supports for individuals and families living in difficult social situations. As a registered non-governmental organization based in Chisinau, Moldova, Keystone Moldova unites individuals, families and the community in nurturing relationships. By providing a place in the community where children, young people, adults and families can access resources, Keystone Moldova empowers individuals to grow and live rich, fulfilling lives. Keystone Institute India: Keystone Human Services International is beginning a partnership with The Hans Foundation to strengthen the inclusion of people with disabilities in community life in India and to create the Keystone Institute India, an educational institute on disability, community, and innovation. This national institute will exist to provide training and consultation related to the creation of responsive community supports for men, women, and children living in India with disability. It will focus on supporting individualized alternatives to congregate care and institutionalization. The Institute will work with others who care about individuals with disabilities: their families, advocates, allied organizations, and those with disabilities themselves. Leadership activities to seek, identify, and cultivate Indian leadership to head up the change movement for a more inclusive and just Indian society will be an important part of our work. The focus of this outreach is to improve the lives of those with disabilities by bringing communities together and developing responsive community-based supports.
